Correlating transit ridership and gas prices indicates that increased gas prices are not leading to a significant increase in riders. While the number of riders does increase with gas prices, it is only small percentage and most commuters still drive. Off peak times portray another story, where casual riders may opt to take mass transit rather than driving to events like baseball games, saving money and gas. This article also includes a chart.
