Train Fire Closes San Leandro Station

A track fire caused delays and the closure of the San Leandro BART station this morning. The fire started around 6:45 am and required the evacuation of a BART train and the station. The cause appears to be a "collector shoe" that fell off a train and came in contact with the electric third rail, resulting in the fire. No one was hurt.
Update:The San Leandro station reopened at 8 am.
