Ride BART To Macworld

Heading to Macworld? You should take BART! Moscone Center is near the Powell St. Station (near Union Square and the Apple Store) but is also easily accessed from other transit systems.

Directions to Moscone from Powell BART Station:
To get to Moscone Center, exit the Powell St. Station to 4th and Market Streets and turn right on 4th. Walk two blocks south to Howard Street and turn left. Moscone Center is located on Howard between 3rd and 4th Streets. MAP

Steve Jobs will kick things off with his Keynote speech starting at 9 AM. There should be a number of surprises from Apple as well as other vendors. I'll post a summary and review after the Keynote is over.

Update: Keynote Announcements
Apple introduced many new products during Steve Jobs' Macworld Keynote this morning. Here's a summary of the new announcements:

  • iLife '06 - Featuring improvements to the suite of iLife apps, including iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, iDVD, and a new web/blogging tool: iWeb.
  • iWork '06 - Improved productivity apps, including Pages 2 and Keynote 3.
  • iMac - Updated with blazing fast dual-core Intel processors.
  • Macbook Pro - New Intel-based Pro laptops, 4-5x faster than previous much-loved PowerBooks.
  • iPod Accessories - New iPod add-ons including a radio remote and stereo connection kit.
  • Mac OS X 10.4.4 - New version of Mac OS X that is fully Intel compatible featuring new widgets.

I'll post a first-hand report from the Expo later on.
